Five condition values
Wire valuenew
Manufacturer seal intact, packaging unopened.
Wire valuenew_bulk
Brand new and unused — never run in a customer's equipment. Ships in bulk, tray or OEM packaging, no retail box. No signs of use.
Wire valueopen_box
Retail box opened. The item itself is unused, or was only briefly bench-verified. Accessories may be incomplete.
Wire valueused_pull
Pulled from equipment that has been in service. Fully tested — every unit.
Wire valuerefurbished
Pulled, then further processed: cleaned, old thermal compound removed, contacts cleaned, consumables replaced, firmware updated, configuration reset.
The question is whether the part has ever run in a customer's equipment. Stock that was never put into service — factory surplus, channel overstock, unused spares — is New Bulk. Anything pulled from equipment that has been in service is Used Pull, however good it looks.
For drives there is an objective marker: if power-on hours and power cycles exceed factory-test levels, it is Used Pull — regardless of appearance.
Testing authority
Condition names explain what a part is and where it came from. The authoritative acceptance thresholds, category-specific tools and pass criteria live on the Testing page so there is one source for how units are accepted.
For processors, memory, graphics cards, system boards, power supplies and complete systems the functional result is binary — it passes or it does not. We do not sell partial results.
